Kingwood Medical Center and Dr. Julie Bernell helped Sofia Sisneros and Samuel Cruz welcome their daughter into the world at 12:16 a.m. on January 1, 2015. Baby Mikeila Virginia Cruz Sisneros weighed 2 pounds and 8 ounces and is 11.5 inches long. Baby Mikeila was delivered 10 weeks prematurely and is receiving specialized care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at The Women & Children’s Center.

In just two years since obtaining the da Vinci Si robotic-assisted surgical system, more than 400 patients have experienced the benefits of physician-guided robotic surgery at Kingwood Medical Center. For patients, the benefits include less pain, less risk of infection, smaller incisions and less scarring, reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stay and faster recovery.
