Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, claiming the lives of nearly 1 million Americans every year. Many people don’t understand the extent to which they can prevent heart disease or improve their outcomes with early diagnosis and treatment.
The Cardiovascular Program at Kingwood Medical Center provides unparalleled care to thousands of residents in north Harris and east Montgomery counties, allowing patients to avoid the added stress of traveling many miles to get the care they need.
Our patients receive a broad continuum of heart and vascular care from diagnosis and treatment to recovery and support for healthy living. Each patient’s program is customized for their needs and situation, including a combination of inpatient and outpatient services. Emergency services providers are equipped with a special cooling device that helps to lower the patient's body temperature thereby preserving brain function after a cardiac arrest. Emergency responders coordinate this method of care with the Emergency Department at Kingwood Medical Center who are specially trained in hypothermia treatment.
