Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Services provided include expert interpretations for biopsies and surgical specimens from all organ sites, non-gynecologic cytology, fine needle aspiration biopsies, bone marrow biopsies, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and molecular studies.
Since joining the medical staff of Kingwood Medical Center in August 2015, GCPA has made many positive changes within the department to ensure both physician and patient satisfaction. Interpretation of immunohistochemical stains, flow cytometry and bone marrow biopsies is performed on-site by GCPA pathologists, allowing for increased quality of results and a marked reduction in case turnaround times. Clinical Pathology support is provided by the active participation of the Pathology Medical Director in several multidisciplinary hospital committees, including Blood Utilization, Infection Control, Medical Staff Performance Improvement, and the Medical Executive Committee.
Consultative services for both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology are provided 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, with on-call pathologists available after hours when needed. We encourage you to call or visit our department located in Suite 299 of the Kingwood Medical Center, to discuss Anatomic or Clinical Pathology issues, or to review tissue pathology slides one on one with a pathologist.
We look forward to providing you with the continued excellent pathology services that you have come to expect at Kingwood Medical Center.
