Our Neonatal Transport Team Caring for Newborns
Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, Kingwood Medical Center provides care for mothers who have high-risk pregnancies and for babies who are born prematurely or are sick and need emergency transport services to our hospital, by air or by ground.
The NICU transport team has specialized skills and equipment to care for newborns while they are being transported to the hospital. All of the neonatal transport team nurses are skilled in advanced procedures to care for the smallest and sickest babies.
From small towns located nearby to communities a few hundred miles away, Kingwood Medical Center’s Neonatal transport team is ready, willing, and able to serve.
When it comes to women and babies, we literally go the distance:
- Our helicopter travels within a 75-mile radius of The Women and Children’s Center
- Our ambulance travels within or beyond the limitations of our aircraft.
While en route to The Women & Children’s Center, our on-board experts consult with the attending physician to confer about care options in preparation for immediate and/or additional treatment to be administered the moment of arrival.
