Our CEO - Melinda Stephenson
Melinda Stephenson joined Kingwood Medical Center in July of 2009 with a history of accomplishments with the parent company, HCA. Prior to joining Kingwood Medical Center, she served as CEO of Mainland Medical Center for four years and she served as the Chief Operating Officer as well as the Chief Nursing Officer of Clear Lake Regional Medical Center for eight years, respectively.
She earned an MBA from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and possesses a BSN from the University of Texas. Additionally, she is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Giving back to the community, Stephenson serves as the Treasurer of The Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce and as a Director on the Humble Independent School District Foundation.
Under the leadership of Melinda Stephenson, Kingwood Medical Center has added an additional two floors to the South Tower, a neuro operating room, neuro interventional lab, and a new rehab unit. Not only has Kingwood Medical grown in size under her leadership but also in program development. The cardiac program continues to be a best in class operation and over 600 open heart surgeries performed to date speak to the large volumes of patients seeking care at the Cardiovascular Center.
The Neuro and Brain Center has developed to be a regionally recognized program offering patients both neurological and neurosurgical care close to home.
Our newest addition will offer services to woman and children previously found only in Medical Center hospitals. This newest $79M expansion will offer women a quality service in a beautiful environment without the hassles of a long drive, traffic, and congestion.
