Our Hospital

Serving North Harris, East Montgomery and Liberty Counties for more than 18 years, Kingwood Medical Center’s commitment to providing patients with quality care in a convenient location continues to strengthen. The hospital demonstrates its dedication to the communities it serves through its growth, investments and achievements.

Kingwood Medical Center is currently comprised of:

  • 211 beds
  • 56 beds to be added in 2010
  • 480 physicians
  • 850 employees

The hospital’s plan to increase capacity to 267 beds in 2010 is part of a $25.5 million expansion designed to meet the continued growth of Houston’s northeast communities. Adding new services and 54,000 square feet are only the beginning. Kingwood Medical Center employs 850 full time staff and expects to add an estimated 225 new employees upon completing the expansion. The community will also benefit from the two new floors as the new space will enable the hospital’s physicians and staff to serve 4,000 more patients annually.

The needs of the community are reflected in the hospital’s tradition of growth, innovation and quality. Throughout the years, Kingwood Medical Center’s high standards of service have been recognized both internally and by third party endorsements. Most recently, the TMF® Health Quality Institute awarded Kingwood Medical Center the Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award of Excellence in the summer of 2009. Additionally, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) – the facility’s parent company – announced satisfaction scores for each of its 168 hospitals; Kingwood Medical Center ranks first in the Houston market and in the top 15 percent of all HCA facilities for Employee Satisfaction and seventh overall for RN (Registered Nurse) Satisfaction.

As an Accredited Chest Pain Center, we are proud of the cardiac services Kingwood Medical Center offers the community. When ‘time is muscle,’ our Interventional Cardiology Program stands strong with a door-to-balloon time that is among the best in Houston. Additionally, our open heart program has grown rapidly since its inception, and in just over two years, our cardiovascular surgeons have performed more than 200 lifesaving, open heart surgeries at Kingwood Medical Center.

Additionally, the hospital began its Neurosurgery Program in 2009 with capabilities to treat a range of medical conditions affecting the brain and spine from aneurysms and hemorrhages to tumors and herniated discs.

We also offer orthopedic services from non-surgical and minimally invasive procedures to surgery as well as rehabilitation for muscle, joint and bone injuries and abnormalities. Our highly trained orthopedic surgeons – many of whom specialize in sports injuries – are here to serve you and your family.
